Registration for .UK will start

As of June 10, 2014 the registration under the Top-Level-Domain .UK will start. Owner of a Third-Level-Domain under .CO.UK, .ORG.UK or .ME.UK that was registered before October 29, 2013 get a special privilege by the registry. They have the exclusive right for the equivalent address under .UK for 5 years. Thus, owner of a Third-Level-Domain can decide whether they want to register the .UK-version of the same name or not until October 6, 2019.
The registry has a tool to look up if someone holds the right of registration under http://www.dotuklaunch.co.uk/rights-lookup-tool
According to the rules of the registry a P.O. Box for the owner address is not possible.
Every new registration of a .UK domain will be charged with EUR 9.90 (net: 8.32) EUR in the first year.
