Did you know? DNSSEC at INWX!
Wednesday, May 1, 2019
DNSSEC is used to sign the DNS zone of your domain. Among other things, this makes "man-in-the-middle" attacks many times more difficult and you can be sure that DNS queries about your domain will only be answered by the associated name servers, which are authorized to do so.
INWX now offers DNSSEC for over 1,000 domain extensions. Have you already secured your domain?
You can set up DNSSEC for your domain directly in your customer area:
Log into INWX with your access data and click on the menu item "DNSSEC" in the main menu. There you will find an overview of all activated and deactivated keys of your domains.
If you would like to secure a new domain with DNSSEC, click on the button „Add DNSSEC" in the upper right corner. Now enter the name of the domain for which you want to enable DNSSEC. Enable automatic mode when using your domains with INWX name servers. Then the signing of your domain will be done completely automatically.
However, if you manage your domain with external name servers (for example, Cloudflare), the automatic mode must be deactivated. Then enter in the text fields the information you received from your name server provider.
DNSSEC will now be activated for your domain. You will be informed about the successful setup by e-mail.
Did you know that you can also use DNSSEC via our API?
All functions for DNSSEC are also available to our customers via direct API access. This allows you to have DNSSEC fully automated for your domains via your existing applications.
Further information can be found in our API documentation at: https://www.inwx.de/en/help/apidoc/f/ch02s06.html
