Data Validation Process
As a registrar, we are required under EU Directive (EU) 2022/2555 (NIS2) and its national implementations to ensure that the registrant data of a domain is accurate and complete.
To guarantee this, we validate the data. This includes checking, for example, whether a phone number contains the required number of digits or whether an email address is formally correct. In individual cases, an additional verification step is required.
A verification can be triggered by the requirements of the respective registry, by missing information in the registrant data, by reports from third parties about incorrect data, or by our internal review mechanisms. Which information is verified depends on the domain extension you are using. This may include the phone number, the name, or the address, among others. If the information is not correct, or if no confirmation is provided within the deadline set by the registry or by us, this can result in your domain being deactivated or deleted.
To make verification easier, we have added a document upload function to the customer area.
